Annual Exam / Well Woman Exam
Our once yearly visit to screen for a variety of cancers including breast, ovarian, uterine, cervical and colon, and identify those who may be at a higher risk. It is also an opportunity to review health maintenance, discuss medications, and answer any questions you may have about your body and how it has been feeling over the past year.
This can be routine at your annual exam or it can be in response to an issue you’re having. For instance, if you notice a breast lump, skin changes, nipple discharge, breast pain or notably changes to your breasts, a thorough breast exam by a Medical Provider is appropriate.
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine — Gardasil®
According to the CDC, HPV is so common that almost every person who is sexually-active will have an HPV infection at some time in their life. The vaccine can help protect you from some of the most dangerous strains of HPV which are responsible for most cervical cancers.
A pap smear is a cervical cancer screening that is done during a pelvic exam. Your provider will take a small brush like device that sweeps across the cervix, located at the back of your vagina, collecting a small sample of cervical cells. These cells are sent off to the lab to be analyzed for abnormalities such as cancer or precancerous changes, and your Provider will contact you with results and any next steps.
Birth Control & Contraception
Deciding what birth control is right for you can be intimidating. Our providers review all of the many options available and help you decide which one best suits your body and your goals. We offer prescriptions and placement of whatever you may choose, as well.
Sexually Transmitted Infection Screening
Screening for sexually transmitted infections (or STIs) can be done quickly in the office with either a vaginal swab or urine sample and blood draw.
